I thank you!

I thank you!

I Thank You is like a drug. In fact, if ‘I Thank You‘ were a real drug, it would be the world’s best-selling product because of its health benefit on every major organ.

I thank you‘ is linked to positive changes in the brain and the body. Some of the benefits of saying or thinking  ‘I Thank You’  include mood neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinephrine), reproductive hormones (testosterone), social bonding hormones (oxytocin), cognitive & pleasure related neurotransmitters (dopamine), inflammatory & immune systems (cytokines), stress hormones (cortisol), cardiac & EEG rhythms, blood pressure, and blood sugar. Well, any one of those would be worth an ‘I Thank You’!

Mitch Wasden, CEO of Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge, said when we think or say ”I Thank You’, the brain produces a fabulous chemical called dopamine.” However, you must focus on being thankful to get the benefit.” Good things happen in your life every day, but until they come to your attention, you don’t get the healthy neurotransmitter release. You don’t have to buy the ‘I thank you’ drug. You just have to think it, feel it and say it!

If you are ever ill, feeling depressed, or discouraged there is only one thing to do: Say ‘I thank you’ for everyone and everything that you can bring to mind. Remember to say ‘I thank you’ to you!

During the holidays, when the emphasis is on giving, give yourself the healthiest gift anyone can find. A thankfulness gift is what I have in mind. ‘I thank you’ should start and end your day.  Let ‘I thank you’ roll off your tongue as if it’s easy to say.
