Does Your Child Have a Nickname?

Do you call your child by a nickname? Parents of a little boy nicknamed him ‘nuts’. How dare parents do this? How will that nickname make that little boy feel about himself? What fun little peers will have call him ‘nuts’  and ‘nutto’ and ‘nutty’ and how many times will he be made to feel inferior? He may even laugh along with his peers as he gets older, as some adults end up doing, but I guarantee you, it will leave deep scars.

Is there a nickname you have put on a friend that may make him or her feel powerless? Frequently when you call your friend that name your friend my giggle or a laugh, but inside there is no giggling going on.
